In a move that could spur other retailers to do the same, online retailer Amazon has slashed the price of Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Yesterday, Amazon dropped the price of the Wii Sports Resort Pack to just £99.98. Today, it has reduced the Xbox 360 250GB console to £149.98 and the PS3 160GB console to £199.98; that’s more than £50 off the original RRP.

Though these are unofficial price cuts, it’s rumoured that Nintendo plans to officially cut the price of Wii on May 15 in the U.S to revive flagging sales. Microsoft and Sony’s intentions are unclear, but analysts predict that both consoles will receive a significant price cut come year end.
