Log into Xbox live today and you'll be greeted with a mandatory system update. No new features though we're afraid, Xbox Live's Major Nelson tells us that it will address interruption issues that some Xbox live users may have experienced when playing a limited number of Xbox 360 games.

The update will be rolled out around the world over the next few hours.
