MCV reports that the official UK retail monitor, GFK-Chart Track, has confirmed that over the price-cut weekend there has been a 32% rise in sales of the hardware, outselling the Playstation 3 console, which has seen sales figures drop by 8% from the previous weekend. What the percentages relate to in terms of actual 'units sold' hasn't been disclosed.
On September 19th, Microsoft reduced the price of it's three SKUS: £129.99 (€179) for the entry-level Xbox 360 Arcade, £169.99 (€239.99) for the 60GB Xbox 360, and £229.99 (€299.99) for the 120GB Xbox 360 Elite.
Earlier this week, we reported that Microsoft had reached a new milestone with its Xbox 360 console, confirming that it has shifted 6 million units across Europe since its launch in 2005.
