The schedule apparently shows that the title is down for a November 2008 release!
Last week rumours of a focus-group that were asked to give its opinions on box art for Rock Band 2 emerged through the video games website, Joystiq.
They claim that participants were shown two pieces of box art and asked to vote on them.
Looking at the scans it did initially appear to ring true, but if you read through the text that was apparently sent out with the survey, it does seem a little fishy.
Why would EA refer to other video game franchises, especially Guitar Hero who it’s surely competing with? And, why would it go to such lengths to describe what a sequel is? We’re not thick.
Nevertheless, you can be rest assured – even if Joystiq’s ‘anoymous tipster’ was talking out of his ass – the retailers must have gotten their information from somewhere."Rock Band 2 lets you and your friends play as a virtual 4-person band, in person or online, to rock out to some of the biggest rock anthems from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. Rock Band 2 will be a full featured sequel, similar to full featured sequels you see released by other big video game franchises, such as Need for Speed, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, Call of Duty, or Halo. In the music/rhythm genre, it is similar to the feature jumps made from Guitar Hero I to Guitar Hero II or Guitar Hero II to Guitar Hero III."
Any chance of some Queen this time?
