We've been waiting with baited breath to find out how much the Rock Band kit will cost us when it arrives in the UK on May 23rd and finally the wait is now over...It's not great news we're afraid, especially when you consider that in Canada you can pick the whole Rock Band bundle up for the equivalent of £84.97. The UK Rock Band price will be made up as follows:
The Instrument Edition will cost £129.99 and will include the drum kit, guitar and microphone, but not the game
The game will need to be bought separately for £49.99!
That's a grand total of £178.98; let's call it £180! So, we're paying almost £100 more than gamers in North America.
The drum kit can also be bought separately at £69.99 and a wireless guitar for 59.99. It's a big shame that the Xbox 360 isn't region free.
Okay, so the game does look fantastic and has had rave reviews in the States, but that's one hell of a markup for the European market and a little too expensive we think for the average gamer.
Only time tell if EA has been a little too greedy in their pricing, let's hope they'll be a substantial price-cut before Christmas.
