Little tweaks make a difference
Ok, so the latest Wii update, which came out a few days ago, may not be the most exciting thing to hit Nintendo’s console but, having played with for a few days, I can see that this bunch of tweaks is actually pretty cool.Alright, alright, yes I know that having digital clock on the Wii menu is hardly Earth shattering but it is very handy, especially if you need to keep an eye on the time (like I do). Other little tweaks are just as handy, such as being able to organize your address book anyway way you fancy, or the flashing area around the Message Board button when you get a new message.
Other tweaks are based on messaging too, such as envelopes only appearing on the calendar on the day they’re received, which used to be a bit confusing, and you’ve now got a message history section in the Today’s Accomplishments section.
On the Wii menu stuff like the local forecast is now displayed on the Weather Channel icon, so you haven’t got to actually enter the weather channel to see what’s going on... although, umm, you could always just open a window and look outside... ahem. More useful is the same function in the News Channel with the latest headlines being displayed, now that is handy.
The Virtula Console has seen some improvements too, mainly on system info and the like and all in all, though this latest update is nothing spectacular it certainly improves and tweaks the whole Wii experience.
