Nintendo have revealed that the Virtual console, which currently has the likes of Toe Jam & Earl and Super Mario 64, available to download could soon be host to games that were originally only available in NTSC versions.

Speaking to Eurogamer, a Nintendo spokesperson said "There is always the potential for games that haven't seen the light of day in Europe to be on the Virtual Console. The Virtual Console is the perfect platform for them. Obviously any game not ever released in Europe would have to under go the PEGI and BBFC ratings process."

The spokesperson also went on to suggest that the games wouldn't be restricted to just first party titles and if the game fits the bill third party developers would be able to release their own retro games on the console.
