Blitz the Revolution
It seems like Blitz are trying to get us all excited. Today they've issued a press release telling us they're working on a game that will offer an 'altogether new gaming experience'.
Andrew Oliver, co-founder and Development Director of Blitz Games commented, "We're genuinely very excited to be working on the Revolution. Nintendo's innovation over the years has trail blazed new concepts and the new controller is no exception. It will give people new ways to play existing genres but moreover we hope it will spawn altogether new gaming experiences."
Currently there are no clues as to what the game may be , Possession is their latest game in the making for PS3 and Xbox 360.
On the Blitz website they mention three unnamed projects: A platform title based on a leading kids cartoon character, a hugely successful platform adventure title, and a game of exploration based on a leading girl's toy brand. These three projects, acccording to the website are being developed for Playstation 2 and Nintendo Gamecube, although it would make sense that one or more of these games will appear on the Revolution.
Based on Blitz's previous games we're guessing that the games could be:
Game of exploration based on a leading girl's toy brand : Another Bratz title, please not Barbie Horse Adventures!
A platform title based on a leading kids cartoon character: A new Taz adventure
A hugely successful platform adventure title: Nickolodean's Fairly Odd Parents, although 'highly successful' may be a matter of opinion.
All these games are previous titles that Blitz have worked on, but wouldn't be too difficult to port to the Revolution.Although Blitz have entered into the adult market with Possession, it's more likely that they'll aim at the younger market of the Nintendo Revolution by releasing a child-themed game.
The 'altogether new gaming experience' mentioned by Blitz may not mean a brand new title, but a unique use of the Revolution controller.
Our guess for the unknown revolutionary game is :Bratz :Rock Angelz 2, or possibly a port of the original with a new control system. The GameCube version was a success, albeit a difficult game with the use of the analog controller but, the new Revolution controller would open up all sorts of possibilities.
We may, of course, be totally of the mark and Blitz may have something totally new in the pipelines. Expect an announcement in the next few weeks.
