Nyko released its own wireless version of the Nunchuck controller earlier this year, but Nintendo has been quick to cry 'foul play' and is now suing the company for what they believe is a knock-off the original Nunchuck controller.
In a federal court complaint, filed on June 10,2008 Nintendo claims that the Nunchuck `wholly appropriates the novel shape, design, overall appearance and even the color and materials used in the Nintendo Nunchuk controller.'
Judging from the picture, it's clear to see why Nintendo is so peeved.
"While Nintendo supports the creation of innovative games and products used with our game systems, we cannot allow third parties to infringe our intellectual property rights,'' Denise Kaigler, a vice president with Nintendo of America, said in a statement.
Perhaps this will spur Nintendo on to get its finger out and get is own wireless Nunchuck on the market.
The case between Nintendo of America Inc. v. Nyko Technologies Inc continues.
