Sony's Playstation Home, the community-based which will allow PS3 users to interact, communicate, join online games, shop, share private content and even build and show off their own personal spaces to others in real time, will not be released this year, as was expected.

In Sony's keynote speech, at the opening of the Tokyo Game Show, President Kaz Hirai revealed that it will not be released over the Autumn period because Sony are still tinkering around so that it "truly meet the needs and feedback of the users." "We want to make sure we have a full range of service,." the President commented, in a brief Q&A session.

It's now believed that Playstation Home will launch in Spring 2008.

oh what!!!
I am not surprised to be honest.
I know a lot of PS3 owners who were using this to justify the purchase, I think its going to hit Sony hard.

Their xmas line up isn't looking too impressive, even more so when you consider that MS have Halo3 and Wii has fit and maybe smash brothers coming out. This is on the back of GTA being delayed as well.

Going to be a hard winter for Sony console sales i think.
nah this wasnt the title to save them this xmas, its going to ok plenty of good games coming out over xmas (and before) to keep us going, i think this is more novelty than anything but i was looking forward to it. It's more the fact that it was supposed to be ready now this, still nothing new really. As for justifying the purchase!! there is no reason to justify a purchase of a ps3.
oh sony.. what a mess you've made of the ps3..
