Following on from the news that the PS3 will launch in the UK on March 23rd at a retail price of £425, PS3 blog, Three Speech have predicted the shipment figures for the UK. The website, which apparently has close ties with Sony, claims that around a third of the one million European PS3 consoles available will be making their way to Britain.

The blog reads,“The UK market accounts for approximately 25-30 per cent of European business . We therefore confidently predict that the UK will have around 300,000 units at the outset.”

“And sticking with the maths, from figures we have to hand, we think this will amount to more than the combined number of Wii and 360 consoles that were initially shipped.”

Despite reasonably poor sales across the Globe, retailers are expecting a huge demand for the PS3 which will launch with over 30 titles across every genre. Sony say that it's their 'strongest launch line-up in the history of PlayStation'.
