Two Chinese newspapers, The Commercial Times and Apple Daily are reporting that the manufacturer, Asustek Computers, have began to ship Sony's Playstation 3 to Sony.

According to these business papers, Asustek were given 200,000 component sets back in June and are on schedule to produce that amount of units, with over a million more component sets due to be sent out to the Taiwan-based company in September and October.

There's currently no word on the production status of the other PS3 manufacturer, FoxConn. but it's looking as though Sony may already be on schedule in achieving their projected target of 2,000,000 consoles for the November launch.

2,000,000 perhaps? ;)
Perhaps they've learned from their meagre supplies of the previous PlayStation models?
