PS3 clock speed reduced to 2.8Ghz?

The rumour, that surfaced its ugly head in the Inquirer, pointing at a potential downgrade of the PS3 specs, appear to be gathering more weight. Gaming website, Kotaku has now alledgedly received some 'insider' info confirming that the clock speed of the console may well be 2.8Ghz instead of the 3.5Ghz announced by Sony.
The insider also confirms that the PS3 consoles on show at E3 were indeed development kits, despite some attendees being adament they were playing on the final build.
The rumours have not been confirmed or denied by Sony at this point.
