Almost two years after the launch of the PlayStation 3, Sony has revealed that it has sold two million units in the U.K.and the PlayStation Portable has surpassed the three million mark.
Sony UK MD, Ray Maquire commented: "Obviously PS3 is a premium product with a premium price tag. Interestingly, because it has sold two million at a higher price, it suggests more longevity of the PS3 because we have chipped away at the top end of the triangle".
The statistics, as revealed by MCV, come following the news that the PlayStation Portable, which was launched in Japan on 2004, has now sold over 50 million units worldwide.
Maguire also said that Killzone 2 has proved to be a system seller and gamers can expect more from the series in the future.
