According to a report on Joystiq, Sony has unveiled a new technology at the Tokyo Game Show, dubbed PSP Plus.

PSP Plus is said to make the wireless PS3 DualShock controller compatible with the PSP, meaning that gamers will be able to enjoy the rumble function in addition to using the dual analogue sticks.

The technology will be showcased in the upcoming first person shooter, Resistance Retribution, after which Sony is hoping that other developers will want to create games compatible with the Dualshock 3.

One question that immediately springs to mind is how will we manage to juggle a PSP and a Dualshock controller at the same time with only one pair of hands? Although it hasn't been confirmed, it seems likely that Sony will release a PSP stand to make life more easier.

All that remains to be seen is whether developers will be excited by the prospect of making their PSP games Dual Shock 3 compatible. Sounds good to us.

Resistance Revolution complete with the PSP Plus is due for release in Spring 2009.

Not at all. I'm not sure about it. Seems a bit ridiculous to use a controller meant for a console on a handheld.

The new Resistance game will make or break it.

you missing somthing? make that two of us mate. kind of scratching my head wondering WHY?:juggle::O_o1:
Make that three…

Given that a Dual Shock 3 costs ~£35 I can't see this as being anything other than an ‘if you also own a PS3’ gimmick.
