Last week we learnt that the award-winning Bioshock would eventually make its way to PS3.. 2K Games has now stepped forward to confirm the news and announce a release date for the anticipated title.

The Playstation 3 title will be released in October 2008 with new features and content that plan to heighten the experience.

“Since BioShock for Xbox 360 and Games for Windows won countless 2007 Game of the Year awards, we are excited to see the impact of this stellar title for the PLAYSTATION 3 system when it debuts this fall,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Over the coming months we look forward to revealing the new features and content that will make this a must-have game for its new audience, as well as for those who enjoyed it on the other platforms.”

BioShock is a narrative-driven action experience that allows players to do the impossible as they journey through an amazing, immersive and terrifying world. Caught between powerful forces and hunted down by genetically mutated citizens, the player will come to grips with the mysterious and fascinating world of Rapture, a distinct Art Deco underwater utopia gone mad. BioShock not only challenges the players’ capacity to adapt and survive, but brings to question their values and commitment to the inhabitants of Rapture. With smart and adaptive AI, no encounter ever plays out the same, while numerous customisation options provide gamers with an experience that adapts to their playing style.

Am I the only person who didn't like Bioshock?

It's all well and good for other platforms to get popular titles; my own view is the game got far too repetitive quickly.

At least it'll make the PS3 punters happy (who have been pining for Bioshock).

I got a bit bored of it after a while, I still completed it though.

I thought it started great, right up until the part where just before you leave the “forest” the door slams shut and your sent the friggin mt doom to get some chemical to save the bloody trees. Then it seemed to be a case of rinse and repeat for the rest of the game. Even the kill psyco take picture bit was dull.

plus the prerendered backgrounds outside the city were disapointing.
For me Bioshock came at a perfect time, there wasnt too much going on and i really enjoyed it. I stayed away from the hype and everyone talking about it, i didnt have any problems with the game and didnt care about the security fiasco. I played it and made my own opinions about it and i loved it from start to end. So there wouldnt be any point in getting on Ps3.
I love Bioshock, drawn me in from the moment you start right through to the end. Some levels were better than others I must admit, the forest type bit looked nice but the backwards and forwards bits on it got a little repetetive.

Only bit that really bugged me out was the bits with the wasp hives (pun intended) where you had to smoke the area and then do a mad dash to find syringes before they came back out.

REALLY looking forward to see what they do with Bioshock 2, I hope it is prior to events that happened in the first one so we can see the downfall of Rapture.
