Anthony Burgess from QGO talks to HEXUS about Mir 3

CEO of QGO, (Quality Games Online), Anthony Burgess told HEXUS of his hopes for the next MMOG, The Legend Of Mir 3.

Mir 3 is an isometric online RPG along the lines of Ultima Online. The legend of Mir series holds the record for the most number of players online at any one time, an impressive 900,000. Compare this to Everquest's reported best of 600,000 odd and you can see its pretty huge.

With so many players, how come no-one knows it? That's because the Mir series is huge in the Far East and yet to break over here.

Anthony is confident that all that will change with Mir 3. With such a massive user base already in place, the games Western release has the backing of a huge and active user base, giving it a head start on rivals such as Everquest.

At this time, the game is still in beta and available for free download from here. As its in beta its free to play too, though eventually there will be a monthly subscription.

Uniquely, QGO is offering 24/7 player support with at least two invisible Gamemasters online at any one time. Help can be gotten through the game, by e-mail, text or phone... so if you're stuck help isn't far away.

Lag issues have been minimized as the servers are running on the Colossus network, so even our American cousins will have a smooth gaming experience. Each world set (Mir's version of shards) will run with at least two servers per world set. QGO have a £1.5million pound deal with BT to ensure they have the bandwidth players need and provide excellent player support, something that has bugged every other multiplayer game since their invention.
