And got my arse kicked!
Over on the XFX stand at CeBIT 2007, Jonathan ‘Fatal1ty’ Wendel was taking on gaming hopefuls in another of his famous Challenges.
So, being the sucker for punishment that I am, I sat down for a session with no illusions - I thought I was going to get my behind handed to me on a plate... and I was right!
Now I don’t claim to be all that brilliant at shooters, though I reckon I can give a decent account of myself, but facing off against Fatal1ty it soon became evident just how good this guy is. He's very, very good.
Ok, so I’ve not played against that many pro-gamers but you soon get an idea of just how far ahead these guys are when Fatal1ty, in a noble gesture to give me a chance, started playing one-handed, meaning he couldn't even strafe. Then he ended up promising not to shoot for ten seconds. Then not to shoot for ten seconds and stand still so that I had a chance to get at least one kill.
The final score of Fatal1ty 100, Nick 37 kinda says it all.
In my defence, I was interviewing him for HEXUS.tv at the same time as playing. But then I guess he was sitting there trying to think of answers, so even the most distracting of questions didn’t put him off his game.
Keep an eye on HEXUS.tv for the full interview and my utterly embarrassing subjugation - it's coming very soon!
But while you're waiting, come and blow raspberries over in the CeBIT 2007 forum!
