Neverwinter Nights

Neverwinter night fans were up in arms over the news that Atari has banned Bioware from selling any new episodic content in their online store, with some fans threatening to boycott the game.

Neverwinter Nights: Infinite Dungeons is the latest premium module released by Bioware. The module is designed for single and multiplayer gaming, but could well be the last for NWN1. Although Neverwinter Nights 2 is due for release in September, hardcore fans are still disappointed that any future content has been banned.

Atari have now issued a statement to ensure fans that Neverwinter Nights 2 will be mod friendly.

Atari understands the importance and popularity of the mod community, which has supported the Neverwinter Nights franchise for years. Atari remains as committed to the franchise and the growing members of the community as ever and we've still got quite a bit more news in-store for everyone between now and September. Our goal is to make Neverwinter Nights 2 one of the most compelling RPG experiences seen in years by also making it one of the most mod-friendly games ever.
Bioware have been selling premium modules since 2004 via their online store and, with Neverwinter Nights 2 on the horizon, it's no surprise that they're calling it a day.

Check out our preview of Neverwinter Nights 2.
