HD DVD = Porn, Blu-ray = No porn - The choice is yours!

'Porn' is a universal word that makes many of us sit up and take notice - and it could well be a deciding factor in the war between HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc. At the Adult Industry Exhibition in Las Vegas, reports state that all of the major adult movie studios will be producing movies for the HD DVD format rather than Blu-Ray.

It's suggested that Sony have pushed the adult industry away from producing content for their Blu-ray format by pressurising manufacturers to decline any adult-related content. As a result, a number of studios, including Digital Playground, will be producing porn exclusively for HD DVD.

Currently, there are no adult movie studios producing porn for Blu-ray.

Finally, we've found a reason to buy the Xbox 360 HD DVD drive add-on!

Hang on, didn't we see the same thing with VHS/BetaMax? I seem to recall that Sony wouldn't allow pr0n on the superior BetaMax format - this in the end nailed the coffin on that format…. Could we see the same thing here?

Blimey thats thats a terribly high horse.

I have never bought a product that restricts me from what I see. Parental Controls are obviously fine, but Ipods are out and so are Blu-Ray now. It doesn't matter what you may personally think of an activity if its legal then there should be no restriction on seeing it.

And yes one of the reasons BetaMax failed was the access to adult material, there were others but surely you wouldn't want to do the same again!?

I can't read ‘Games’ headlines at work, can someone post the actual news link?

Google brings up articles that claim both ways (Adult content goes blu-ray) for example
