24th November, 2005 – ASUSTeK Computer Inc (ASUS) are bringing their own LCD monitors to the UK market for the first time. Products are already entering the channel and you’ll already find some models for sale on the likes of Scan (http://www.scan.co.uk) and MicroDirect (http://www.microdirect.co.uk).

Uniquely in the industry, Asus are offering a 1 year ZBD (Zero Bright Dot) returns policy - the first manufacturer to do so. If even a single bright pixel is found on the panel within one year, a replacement will be issued. “It’s a strong statement, especially when you consider all of our competitors are offering only 1-3months ZBD policy”, claims Hiten Desai, Asus UK Product Manager for LCD.

In addition, a 3 year collect and return warranty is offered on the complete monitor, which at least equals the best warranty terms available on LCD at the moment.

“It’s a very competitive market of course” commented Hiten Desai, UK Product Manager for LCD, “but not only do we have the advantage of the Asus brand, which counts for a lot in the channel, but also some interesting features which may push the industry further.”

The range of four models entering the UK includes the PM17TU, which boasts a 3m/s response time, and Asus’ proprietary “Splendid Technology” which improves picture and colour quality according to screen output.
