Bidding for shoppers attention

Rather fittingly in time for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, RIM has announced it will be teaming up with eBay on a new Blackberry app for US and Canadian citizens, which will be made available through the firm's app store; BlackBerry App World.

Shopoholics who would rather empty their wallets without having to camp out all night outside their favorite shops could, theoretically, try their hand (or handset) at bidding for bargains via blackberry, with the app designed to let potential punters search watch and bid on items.

The app shows users real-time home screen notifications of bids and even has a calendar function and email notifications for auction end dates.

A feature which will shock no one is the fact the app works only with PayPal, an eBay owned company.

Unlike other eBay apps for the Blackberry, however, this one is free and currently in Beta mode, so North American readers can test it out already, watching their hard earned cash disappear into a black hole of retail this black Friday. Enjoy.
