Nokia has released an app that enables N-Series owners to upload their photos for printing and delivery. The idea is to cut out any and all extra hardware from the user's perspective.
N-Series users will already be aware of the phones' abilities, which include high resolution camera shots (depending on the model) and the ability to edit - with a reasonable, but somewhat limited set of options - saved images. It's already possible to beam print jobs over Bluetooth to a local photo printer, but Nokia's new 'XpressPrint' app is intended to allow users to upload images to a professional printing service.
Putting a creative spin on things, Nokia says that images can also be printed onto mugs, jigsaw puzzles, t-shirts, stickers, and the delivery address can be changed so that said novelty items can be sent to a friend/relative/enemy.
XpressPrint, which is downloadable from the N-Series website, or any N-Series phone, will use WiFi or the cell network to upload the photos and place the print order, the obvious downside being that the better the phone-camera, the bigger the bandwidth bill, depending on the phone's contract.
There's a long list of European Countries in which the service is available, with a promise that more will soon be added.
As a prompt to get happy-snappers to try out the service, Nokia's offering 10 free prints to each user.
