Handset manufacturer HTC launched it latest smartphone, the
Hero, last week. Chock-full of features and powered by a
combination of ARM hardware and Google's Android operating system, it
will be available in mid-July from Orange and O2.
Orange will be providing the Hero 'free of charge' but on
£39.15 per month contract that lasts two years. However, if
you don't want to be tied down to a provider and would prefer a
SIM-free Hero, Expansys
is listing the handset for £399.99, including VAT, along with
£30 worth of vouchers.
£400 seems steep
but the pricing is in line with the various iPhone incarnations and cheaper than a Nokia N97. Would
you consider one? Let us know in the forums.
