D-LINK LAUNCHES HIGH DEFINITION MEDIALOUNGE PLAYER VERIFIED TO WORK WITH INTEL(r) VIIV(tm) TECHNOLOGY

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Dec. 19, 2006 - D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumers and business, today announced it is shipping its latest MediaLounge Wireless Media Player - DSM-510 - a powerful, yet compact media player capable of delivering video, digital photos, music and more to televisions and home entertainment centers from computers and storage devices over a home network via a wired or 802.11g/b wireless connection. The new media player also aids in the streaming of high-definition (HD) video through a wired network connection.

Building on the new product availability, D-Link also announced that its DSM-510 received Intel(r) Viiv(tm) technology verification, which tests the compatibility of networked media devices with Intel Viiv technology-based PCs. Using the Intel Viiv technology verified DSM-510, consumers will get maximum enjoyment out of their digital home entertainment network, including access to the Intel(r) Viiv(tm) Zone, which offers a growing selection of on-demand, Internet-delivered premium content, including movies, music videos, TV shows, and information services.

While performance is optimized for users with Intel Viiv technology-based PCs, the DSM-510 is compatible with computers running Windows(r) XP or 2000.

D-Link's RangeBooster G Wireless Router (WBR-2310) and AirPremier AG Dual-Band Wireless Router (DI-784) also earned Intel Viiv technology verification last June. Intel's Hub Connect Technology helps with installation of the DSM-510 when used with D-Link's Intel Viiv technology- verified wireless routers.

"The DSM-510 is an extremely powerful, full-featured media player with an intuitive user interface that bridges together computers, storage devices and the Internet with the home entertainment center for a heightened multimedia experience," said Brian Larsen, associate vice president of product development for D-Link Systems, Inc. "Passing Intel Viiv technology verification underscores our commitment to bring next-generation connectivity solutions to market for consumers for enjoying seamless sharing and instant access to digital media and entertainment from anywhere inside their home."

"Intel Viiv technology, based on the new Core 2 Duo processor, is the superior technology for today's media PCs. When used with verified devices like the new D-Link MediaLounge player, consumers will enjoy new levels of digital home entertainment' said Gerald Holzhammer, vice president, Digital Home Group and general manager of Intel's Consumer PC Platform Group. 'We are pleased that D-Link has completed the verification process for the MediaLounge DSM-510 which will carry the 'Enjoy with Intel Viiv technology' logo."

For best results, Larsen added, the D-Link MediaLounge DSM-510 Media Player would be connected to an existing home network via wired Ethernet, or through an 802.11g wireless standard-compliant router such as the Intel Viiv technology verified D-Link RangeBooster G Wireless Router (WBR-2310) or AirPremier AG Dual-Band Wireless Router (DI-784). Another alternative for Ethernet-wired performance is the D-Link PowerLine Network Kit (DHP-301) that enables consumers to tap into their existing electrical wiring to extend their home network.

The DSM-510 features a convenient remote control and easy-to-navigate TV user interface for hassle-free browsing of digital content. It works with standard Windows XP computers through Microsoft's Windows Media Connect and other Universal Plug and Play (UpnP) media servers.

In addition to its built-in connectors for High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) and Composite Audio and Video outputs, the DSM-510 features Optical Digital Audio with support for 5.1 Channel Audio.

With HTTP as the media streaming protocol, supported video formats are MPEG-1/2/4, WMV9, XVID with MP3 or PCM, AVI (MPEG-4 layer only) and DVR-MS.

Audio formats are MP3, WAV Audio, WMA and AIFF (PCM only) and Ogg Vorbis.

Image formats supported are JPEG and JPEG2000, TIFF 9 (RGB only), non-compressed BMP, PNG and GIF.

Also included is a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet controller, 802.11g wireless networking support and a USB 2.0 port for additional connectivity with flash memory, digital cameras and portable music and video players.

The D-Link MediaLounge DSM-510 ($239.99 MSRP) is available from D-Link's vast network of computer retail outlets and at http://www.dlinkshop.com. Further information can be found at http://www.dlink.com/dsm-510.
