* Canon L-series 4.5-90mm f1.6-f3.5 20x optical zoom lens [35mm equivalent 32.5-650mm], with fluorite and Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) glass elements and Super Range Optical Image Stabilizer (lens-shift type)
* Two neutral density (ND) filters are built into the lent to allow the iris to be fully opened (to reduce depth of field) even in very bright conditions
* Instant AF for high-speed auto focusing (critical with HD); Focus Assist for manual operation
* Professional connectivity, with two-channel XLR audio input
* Balanced compact design, with optimal control layout
* Internal battery system for enhanced versatility
* Simultaneous video and still-image recording. Canon says that still-image capture to MMC or SD memory cards is an ideal tool for storyboarding, location scouting and continuity applications.
* Separate focus, zoom and iris rings on the lens barrel for full manual control
* Focus and zoom points are stored as presets and "easily returned to with accuracy and speed"
