Digital radio manufacturer PURE has announced the release of the Oasis Flow, a splash- and water-proof digital radio capable of streaming internet radio stations. With sturdy construction and multiple connectivity options, PURE claims that this new entry in the Oasis line is ready for anything.

The Oasis Flow continues PURE’s simple yet effective design aesthetic, and the relatively minimalist design certainly looks sturdy. With an aluminium frame, rubber seals and waterproof vents, it seems that the radio will be ready to withstand the worst that the elements – or careless owners - throw at it. This isn’t to say that the radio itself is lacking, though. As well as being capable of streaming internet radio over a WiFi connection, the Oasis Flow can tune into traditional DAB and FM stations, connect to an external source through a 3.5mm jack or use PURE’s i-10 iPod dock.

Flow

The Oasis Flow also takes advantage of an OLED touchscreen for input and display duties, though we can imagine that this might cause readability issues outdoors on sunny days.

PURE promise 10 hours of battery life from the rechargeable power pack, which should be more than enough for a day’s listening, whether it’s indoors or out. While we think that an internet radio with WiFi and a touchscreen is just begging for DLNA or iTunes streaming support, the Oasis Flow is otherwise well-equipped and seems to be very well built. For those looking for a rugged and full-featured radio for the house, garden or beach, the PURE Oasis Flow should be available now priced at £169.99 (including VAT).

It was looking good until I saw that it only has 1 Speaker.

What is this? have we gone back to 1932 and we are broadcasting in mono of all a sudden. Most of the streams I listen to are stereo and you can actually hear mixes take advantage of this with 1 song fading or mixing on 1 speaker while another is playing in the other speaker

This is something that lets most the players like this down, having 1 speaker.
& the price !!!

£169, for that I could buy wireless speaker's from the PC in to the garden. Granted you cant change the station but at least its stereo..
