Photography supplier Jessops has today announced that the all-new Olympus Pen E-P1 will launch exclusively at the Jessops New Oxford Street store on Thursday June 25th.
The handheld, pictured below, is designed using the retro Pen design of the 60s and promises DSLR quality in a Micro Four Thirds system.
The Olympus Pen E-P1 measures just 121mm x 70mm x 36mm and features a 12.3 megapixel Hi-Speed Live MOS sensor with TruePic V processing. There's support for interchangeable Micro Four Thirds or Four Thirds lenses, and a 3in HyperCrystal LCD can be found on the back.
Showing its DSLR-like qualities, the E-P1 touts a sensor shift image stabiliser, an ISO sensitivity of 100-6,400 and a shutter speed of 60-1/4000s. It'll record 720p HD video at 30fps and there's HDMI out for easy big-screen playback of your captured memories.
How much will it set you back? We're looking at £599 for the camera body, or £699 including a 14-42mm lens.
Interested? If so, you might want to pop by Jessops' exclusive launch event at the London New Oxford Street store (63-69 New Oxford Street, London, WC1A 1DG) on the 25th June from 6.00pm onwards. The event, taking place to celebrate 50 years since Olympus launched its first Pen design, is open to all customers and Jessops will be giving away a free Cross pen worth £300 to the first 50 pre-orders.
