Bletchley Park, the world famous heritage site located in the town of Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, is in desperate need of funding.
The site, now a museum, was one home to the UK's code-breaking establishment in World War II. It played an essential role in deciphering enemy codes, and is often cited as influential in shortening the war.
In recent years, Bletchley Park has fallen into a state of decay and funding is required to safeguard its future. In an effort to save the site, an online petition has asked the government for assistance, it reads:
Please do not allow this crucial piece of both British and World culture to disappear. If ever an example were needed of Britain leading the world, this surely would be it. To allow it to fall into the hands of developers would be simply unconscionable.
The petition has already received nearly 10,000 signatures, clearly showing the nation's desire to save this world-famous and highly regarded "museum of computing".
In addition to signing the petition, the public can offer its support to Bletchley Park by making online donations or by simply visiting the site.
