Onkyo High Resolution Audio performance and wireless Bluetooth connectivity feature heavily in new range
Bristol, England – Gibson Innovations, in partnership with Onkyo, is launching eight new headphone and earphone models into the UK market with four premium High Resolution Audio models and three Bluetooth sets – including the truly ground-breaking W800BT True Wireless product – debuting in the UK for the first time.
All of the new models incorporate advanced audio technologies and premium materials to achieve outstanding sound quality and superb design.
Onkyo has been responsible for many sound innovations sound since its creation in 1946 and today the company is committed to the promotion and development of High Resolution Audio. Onkyo is the largest retailer of High Resolution Audio downloads in Japan through its e-Onkyo Music store, which in 2015 launched in the US, UK and Germany. The company’s popular Onkyo HF Player app has also become the gateway for many first-time experiences of the clarity and precision of High Resolution Audio.
The next step in this commitment to High Resolution Audio and the company’s clean, clear and precise signature sound is the launch of five new headphones all offering HRA performance including: the affordable in-ear (E700M) and on-ear (H500M) headphones, the hybrid dynamic balance armature in-ear phones (E900M), the premium closed acoustic over-ear headphones (H900M) and premium opened acoustic in-door headphones (A800).
For great sound quality and the maximum convenience the Bluetooth range includes the H500BT on-ear, the E700BT in-ear and the W800BT True Wireless in-ear headphones.
H500M and H500BT: HRA in a lightweight, portable, on-ear package
The Onkyo H500M High Resolution Audio on-ear headphones include 40mm optimized high power drivers to provide detailed sound quality from High Resolution Audio playback across an extended frequency range of 7Hz-40kHz. The acoustically closed architecture limits ambient noise whilst the rigid aluminium housing prevents extraneous vibrations to ensure pure sound clarity.
The double shell structure of the headphones creates a separate inner acoustic volume with bass ports, allowing the precise control of the bass output while also enhancing the driver’s mechanical freedom of movement.
The headphones include an in-line remote with built-in microphone to control music playback and manage hands-free calls. The H500BT adds the option of high-quality aptX Bluetooth for a cable-free connection but still retains the same HRA frequency range when using a wired connection.
Designed with soft, memory foam, ear cushions for an ergonomic fit, the detachable 1.2m cable supplied with both the H500M and H500BT features a tangle-free twisted pair design to reduce electromagnetic interference from external sources and crosstalk.
E700M and E700BT: In-ear HRA performance at an accessible price
With oval sound tubes and precision 13.5mm high power drivers, the wired E700M is capable of High Resolution Audio playback across an extended frequency range of 6Hz-40kHz. The in-house developed drivers are holistically tuned as part of the complete acoustic system that includes a semi-closed architecture to limit ambient noise but produce a large and open sound stage. The E700BT wireless aptX Bluetooth model benefits from the same acoustic features and although not HRA compatible, still produces superb sound quality. A single wire design incorporates the battery and in-line remote control that is worn around the back of the neck.
Both E700 models feature ergonomic designs that disperse pressure in the ear and include ultra-sound silicone and Comply™ Foam Tips and a lightweight, durable aluminium housing for comfort.
Onkyo W800BT: True Wireless in-ear headphones
The W800BT is a genuine innovation as one of the world’s first True Wireless in-ear headphones. The left and right earpieces work independently and connect wirelessly to a Bluetooth enabled device and to each other, allowing users to immerse themselves in high quality audio cable free.
Each of the W800BT earpieces incorporates an 8.6mm high-powered driver that delivers a pure and precise sound with a rich bass, balanced mid-range and crystal clear treble for an authentic musical experience across a frequency range of 6Hz – 22kHz. A closed acoustic architecture seals out sound creating a clear and accurate audio experience without external interruptions.
The shape and the stabilizer design of the W800BT has been carefully designed according to ear geometry to ensure a secure, comfortable fit. The right earpiece includes a microphone to enable hands-free calls and can be used with any connected device. The W800BT ear pieces feature up to 3 hours music/talk time and up to 40 hours standby time. The headphones also come with a charging case to store headphones which gives consumers the added convenience of five recharges on-the-go from its own internal battery.
H900M: HRA over-ear headphones
A luxurious over-ear and closed back headphone offers High Resolution Audio playback with excellent comfort and noise isolation. The combination 50mm high power drivers with multi-layer diaphragm design, precision aluminium housing and extended, wide frequency performance (5Kz-40kHz) makes these signature headphones a perfect companion for high quality music or video. The advanced driver design delivers accurate treble, clear and open mid-range and deep, smooth bass at any volume for a perfectly balanced sound. Whilst the closed back acoustic architecture minimises external noise and distractions making them the perfect audiophile headphone either on the move, in the office or at home.
The stylish black and gold design is practical too with a supremely comfortable wide headband and a low impedance 1.2m detachable Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) twisted cable to minimise electromagnetic interference from external sources and crosstalk.
E900M: Flagship High Resolution Audio in-ear headphones
Building on years of audio expertise, the E900M headphones are one of the most advanced in-ear headphones available today. The ultimate listening experience is created through a combination of a 3-way passive cross-over system and hybrid 3-way dual balanced armature and dynamic drivers. The balanced armature drivers create a clear mid-range with exceptionally high frequency detail and extension while the three-way passive cross-over system balances the low, middle, and high frequencies, for a full, yet precise and articulated bass.
With three sizes of Comply™ foam tips and three sizes of ergonomically shaped silicone caps in the box, the E900M will ensure tight and secure fit for the best sound and comfort possible. A modernized gold and black design reflect the classical designs of traditional musical instruments, and a 1.3m OFC twisted cable completes the design, offering low impedance and reducing electromagnetic interference from external sources and potential crosstalk.
A800: High Resolution Audio over-ear headphones with open back design
Designed to bring the clean, clear and precise Onkyo signature sound into the home, the High Resolution Audio compatible A800 over-ear indoor headphones have 50mm high power drivers with a multi-layer diaphragm capable of reproducing music at brilliant quality. The acoustically open architecture helps create an incredibly large and life-like sound stage with clear separation between individual instruments, bringing you closer than ever to the original recording.
An over-ear design with wide, leather-finished headband and soft velvet and memory foam cushions ensures a comfortable fit during even the longest of listens. Using a specially designed, 3m, detachable, low impedance OFC ribbon cable, audio signal transmission is improved for further refined sound.
