The BBC Trust wants to find out what viewers and listeners think about the BBC's proposed new High Definition (HD) television channel.The views of licence fee payers and stakeholders are being sought on the role the BBC should play in the development of HD in the UK, the extent to which the service represents a desirable use of the licence fee, and how distinctive the proposals are from other HD services in the market.
This opportunity for public representations is part of the Trust's Public Value Test (PVT) into BBC management's proposals for a new High Definition television (HDTV) channel. The Trust is currently examining what public value would be created by the launch of the proposed new service.
