Sharp launches iPod sound systems for the modern home

iPod docking stereos combine audio technology expertise with cutting-edge design

29th May, 2007 – Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd has launched two high-end, luxury iPod docking stereos.  Both the DK-A1H and the DK-A10H boast a variety of features to meet the needs of all music lovers, including AM/FM radio with RDS and the ability to play a wide variety of digital formats.  The DK-A10H model also has a built-in CD-player.  Both models are available with either pure white or piano lacquer-black finishes.

Unbeatable audio quality
Sharp has a strong reputation in producing quality audio systems and these iPod stereos continue that legacy.  The high-performance two-way bass reflex speakers with built-in subwoofers produce crystal-clear sound combined with voluminous bass.  The new E-Sound technology with a digital signal processor (DSP) enhances the sound quality of the highly compressed audio files and generates a dynamic 3D surround sound.

The technology also expands the sound frequencies, increasing the sound pressure level which enables the highly compressed audio files to achieve the necessary tone differences for a clear sound. The electronic 6-step equaliser customises the sound to the music genre ensuring that all tunes are played at an optimum level, whether rock, jazz or classical.

Sleek design
With its pure white or piano lacquer-black finish and compact proportions, the DK-A10H and DK-A1H fit perfectly into the modern home, complementing and accommodating the design of all generations of the Apple iPod.

iPods are charged when connected to the station, and the iPod display is clearly visible while music is playing. The docking station itself features a dot matrix display using fluorescent technology to ensure that functionality information is clearly legible from a distance.

Users who do not want to select their songs from the iPod or from the operating controls on the docking station, can use the miniature remote control which matches the sleek, rounded design of the stereo.

Multiple connection and format options
The line-in function at the back of the stereo allows users to connect other MP3 devices to the station, while the AUX input and video output enables connection to other home entertainment devices such as TVs, DVD-Player or notebooks, allowing the user to view iPod images and video content on television screens, transforming the system into a home cinema station.

In addition to the iPod AAC-files, both models are able to recognise CDA MP3 and WMA (Windows Media Audio) format.  The DK-A10H model is also capable of playing both standard CDs and rewritable CD-RWs.
