PRESS RELEASE

The Flow 4810 mixes patented, cutting-edge sound innovation and engineering, with minimalistic Scandinavian design

London, UK, 4th October 2012 - Opalum, a Scandinavian audio company developing sound solutions for modern interiors, today announces the Flow 4810. Combining chic Scandinavian minimalist design, with patented Actisonic® and Actiline® sound innovation, the Flow 4810 sounds as stunning as it looks. Partnered with a control hub and RF touch remote, users can stream their music from any device, such as a mobile phone, tablet or PC using Airport express or Bluetooth connectivity.

The Opalum range of opulent speakers has been designed by one of Scandinavia's premiere designers - Eva Hanner. Her masterpieces span from award-winning concept cars and private jet interiors, to designer collections launched by high profile, home-styling brands. Using her deluxe design ethos, Eva has put her stamp on the Flow 4810 by leading with a simplistic design that oozes solid, Scandinavian elegance.

No thicker than a modern LED TV, the Flow 4810 has been crafted to fit discreetly onto the wall in a beautiful, modern home and is more comparable to a piece of modern art than a traditional black box speaker system. Available in high-gloss translucent white or black, the Flow 4810 will seamlessly coordinate with any interior decor.

Decades of academic research has lead to the evolution of Opalum's core digital audio technology - Actisonic. The array of 48 precision-made drivers, use advanced, inverse filtering algorithms and psychoacoustics, to allow the Flow 4810 to take control of the air movement, creating flawless audio reproduction.

The Flow 4810 looks sharp, but sounds even sharper. The speaker's characteristic wave shape is engineered to provide function alongside finesse, as the speaker's contour firms up the front sound baffle to minimise vibration, and channel sound towards the listener.

The depth of the sound, the smoothness of the bass, and the crystal clear delivery of music is unparalleled compared to any other active speaker system- thanks to the sophisticated technology within the Flow 4810. Using a 20W amplifier for the high frequencies and a 100W amplifier for the low frequencies, results in the bi-amplified Flow 4810 providing a powerful 120 watts in each speaker. Using separate Class-D amplifiers for each frequency band provides a clearer and less distorted sound than speakers with a single amplifier.

Users of the Flow 4810 are able to stream their music from a smartphone, laptop, PC, iPad, iPod touch, music server, or any other digital device able to connect wirelessly via Bluetooth or Airport express.  The control hub is very user-friendly, thanks to the Auto Setup feature, which stores a user's devices.

The hub comes equip with an ergonomic, pebble-shaped RF touch remote - allowing the control hub to remain out of sight while in use.  Users can simply place the hub in a cupboard, or wherever they want to hide the caballing. Thanks to the digital transmission signal, noise interference is a thing of the past.

Opalum's Actline technology also makes the set-up of multiple Flow 4810s simple, as it enables speaker daisy chaining; perfect for a large home or business environment.

Pricing and availability

The Flow 4810 speakers are priced at £2,899.00 (including control hub and remote)
