London, UK 8th June 2011: PURE, the world leading radio maker, launches Sirocco 550, a, state-of-the-art, internet-connected micro hi-fi system with digital radio, FM, CD and iPod/iPhone dock.
Incredibly powerful, with 80W RMS of stereo sound, Sirocco 550 (SRP £349.99) is ideal for the main room in the house. Sirocco 550 incorporates PURE's digital end-to-end audio solution, ClearsoundTM, which uses high-quality Class D amplifiers and digital audio shaping technology to deliver clear dynamic audio, higher volume levels and low power consumption.
Using a Wi-Fi connection or optional Ethernet adaptor, Sirocco 550, the eighth member of PURE's growing internet-connected range, enables the user to stream their digital music collection from a home PC computer or media server. Thousands of internet radio stations and on demand programmes from around the world can also be streamed on Sirocco 550 through the Wi-Fi connection or Ethernet adaptor.
Also available via PURE's online portal, The Lounge (www.thelounge.com) is a unique selection of ambient PURE Sounds for relaxation and FlowSongs*, PURE's ground-breaking, cloud-based music service that allows the user to identify (tag) tracks playing on any radio station and buy them directly from any PURE radio with Flow technology.
Sirocco 550 offers an incredible range of audio sources including an iPod and iPhone dock and is part of Apple's ‘Made for iPod' and ‘Made for iPhone' programmes. Sirocco 550 also has a CD player, an input for USB flash drives, two auxiliary inputs and receives broadcast radio (digital and FM) and internet radio.
Other features include: video output (composite) to allow users to view YouTube videos and videos stored on their iPhone or iPod on their TV, a fully-featured RF remote control, easy-to-use controls, a large graphical OLED display and quick access to favourite stations via presets.
