Price comparison website advises consumers on Freeview HD availability in their area
London, 17th May 2011 - Consumerchoices.co.uk, a leading provider of comparison sites and services, today announces the launch of its HD Coverage Checker, which advises consumers on the availability of all HD TV services in their area.
The service will be the only HD checker in the country integrating postcode-driven results for local exchange; cable; and Freeview availability, as well as satellite services.
The free interactive tool accurately shows the specific HD services available at a consumer's address, together with the number of standard and HD channels for each platform and the pricing of all the major suppliers. It also allows customers to toggle between transmitters and see the distance and signal reliability of Freeview HD within their area, as well as letting consumers know which standard definition services they can use.
Information provided by the online HD Coverage Checker includes the following:
- Switchover date: When the switchover date will be for Freeview and Freeview HD services
- Transmitter: How reliable the signal is and the distance from the transmitter to your home,
- Alternative suppliers: Which suppliers are currently in operation in your area
