PRESS RELEASE

London, 8th July 2010: PURE, the world-leading radio maker, announces its full support for the new Government's commitment to digital radio migration as laid out in today's speech by Ed Vaizey.

Paul Smith, general manager of PURE, says: "Despite the strategic nature of digital broadcast and the inevitable need for technological advances, there have been many confusing messages around digital radio switchover and this announcement gives much needed clarity to consumers and the radio industry as a whole. It allows us to push ahead our digital radio plans with certainty in the UK and internationally where Governments in other countries have made similar commitments. PURE will work closely with other radio industry stakeholders to help deliver the Government's action plan"

In order to answer any questions that consumers may have, PURE has created a "Digital Radio Explained" booklet which includes a number of frequently asked questions about digital radio and switchover. The booklet is available to download from www.pure.com and from retailers throughout the UK.

Today's speech by Ed Vaizey also highlighted the challenges facing the car industry to facilitate digital radio switchover. PURE's Highway in-car adaptor has successfully allowed PURE to aid the transfer of the in-car market to digital radio and has consistently been the second best selling car audio product since launch*. PURE has further plans to address the challenges and opportunities of this market with Highway today and new innovative products in the future.
