London, UK, March 31, 2009 – Traxdata, a leading manufacturer of optical and flash media products, today launched USB Player, its next-generation movie player. By simply connecting a USB storage device to the USB Player, users can play their favourite multimedia files on their TV; from movies to songs and photos.
The USB player can be connected to any audio and video interface, including High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI). Combined with its up-scaling capabilities, it allows users to make full use of every inch of their high-definition LCD or plasma television (up to 1080i) without having to comprise on image and sound quality.
“Our USB player meets the need of the Internet generation. Many people now prefer to buy their movies and songs from the Internet but often leave them on the computer or saved on their USB storage device,” commented Guido Liber, sales and marketing director at Traxdata. “The lightweight nature of the USB Player means that people can watch files on their home television or on the move, making it perfect for holiday entertainment.”
Unlike some products, when playing video object (VOB) files, Traxdata’s USB Player lets viewers utilise a DVD menu that allows them to watch movies from their USB storage device in exactly the same way as they would a DVD; enabling them to jump between chapters and change the subtitles and language as required. To further enhance the experience Traxdata has included a remote control with the player, allowing viewers to control their entertainment from the comfort of their armchair.
HDMI, component and composite connectors means the Traxdata USB Player can be connected to most TV sets. The USB Player plays the following media types: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, Xvid, MP3, WAV, JPEG, VOB, AVI and DAT. It also supports a wide range of subtitle files: SRT, IDX/SUB, ASS, SSA, SMI, PSB, SUB (type II).
