Digital TV recording for all the family this Christmas with Sharp and Freeview Playback

London, 08 November 2007 – Ditch the videotapes. Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd is now offering digital recording for all the family with the launch of the TU-R160HA digital television recorder (DTR).

The model supports Freeview Playback status for the most up-to-the-minute, one-touch recording features with an eight-day TV guide. Soap and documentary fans will also never miss their favourite TV programmes again. The TU-R10HA upgrades the original model launched by Sharp in June 2007 by offering a series recording feature – ‘series link’ - at the simple push of a button.

Freeview Playback allows viewers to record more than 40 free digital TV channels and so each member of the family can create their own TV schedule from the likes of Film4, E4, ITV2 and BBC3. This also guarantees viewers a fantastic range of features, such as favourites list, schedule tracking, split recording and multiple/alternative timer record, as well as live pause for additional programme control when the phone or doorbell interrupts that crucial TV scene.

Main features include:

  • 160GB Hard Drive, which enables you to record and store up to 80 hours of programmes;
  • twin tuner, allowing simultaneous two-channel recording - even whilst watching a pre-recorded programme;
  • series link;
  • subtitle recording and chasing playback ;
  • PIP (Picture in Picture) ;
  • Twin Scart ;

The TU-R160HA is currently on sale at Littlewoods, Cottrills (mail order), Bennetts and various independents. Recommended retail price is £160.
