And there's more

The other bit of blue-sky thinking to come from Toshiba today is the Libretto W100 - a seven inch touchscreen mini-notebook that replaces the keyboard with another touchscreen.

Tosh claims this is the first dual-screen notebook to run Windows 7, an operating system on which Microsoft put a heavy emphasis on multitouch functionality. The presence of two screen allows some novel functionality; you can drag and drop content from one screen to another, or assign specific functions to each screen such as, we must assume, keyboard.

The Libretto W100 runs an Intel ULV Pentium U5400 processor, has 2GB memory and a 62GB SSD. Like the AC100, it offers an optional 3G module, but there's no word on whether it will be available when the device is made available later this summer.

On the software side, there are some bespoke Toshiba LifeSpace applications. These include ReelTime, which is a graphical UI for recently used items, and some kind of virtual pin-board called Bulletin Board, which allows favourite stuff to be made easily available. Spec, etc below.

That Libretto W100 is simply gorgeous..for me this is *exactly* what the iPad should have been!

Usable as a ebook reader + full computer, in tablet or dual screen mode..I really hope they make one of those (for release next year? :) ), i'd buy one in a flash to replace my TX2
Battery Life = ?
toshiba
Battery life: up to 3.5 hours

Ok, not great - but they could produce a bigger battery / extra batteries at some point (this isn't apple with non removeable batteries remember).
Yeah they could..although currently its only a concept model so final production may well improve :)

They are making some of the concept models available to buy though! So will have to keep a lookout..
