Segments and outlook
Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) revenue declined one percent to $7.5 billion, Enterprise Storage and Servers (ESS) was also down one percent to $5.1 billion. HP Software revenue grew 13 percent to $855 million, while Financial Services (HPFS) revenue grew five percent to $691 million.
HP Services (HPS) revenue increased doubled to $8.6 billion, but this was led by $3.9 billion revenue resulting from the EDS acquisition the 26 August acquisition date. Excluding EDS, HPS revenue grew by ten percent.
For the full year (this was HP's Q4), revenue was $118.4 billion - up 13 percent or eight percent when adjusted for currency fluctuations. Full year profit of $10.5 billion yielded earnings per share of $3.25, up 21 percent on a year ago.
In its outlook, HP stressed the impact of a stronger dollar on revenue and said that it expects this to negatively affect revenues to the tune of 6-7 percent for the year. With that in mind it predicted revenues of $32.0 billion to $32.5 billion for the next quarter and of $127.5 billion to $130.0 billion for the full year.
