Mad new skills?

Last Friday HEXUS.net broke the news that NVIDIA AIB partner will soon be also producing graphics cards based on ATI (AMD) GPU's. As predicted XFX has now confirmed this to be the case.

The press release only specifies the Radeon HD 4000 series as technology to receive the XFX treatment, including factory overclocking, and commits only to early 2009 as the first time we're likely to see such cards.

"We are delighted as this partnership allows us to incorporate the current and future AMD graphics technology into our future graphics card designs, and enables our R&D teams to develop an even wider range of graphics products for our worldwide customers," said Michael Chiu, chairman and CEO of Pine Technology Holdings, the parent company of XFX.

Rick Bergman, senior VP and GM of the Graphics Product Group at AMD, added: "In the world of PC gaming, XFX is synonymous with the extreme performance that enthusiast's crave. Their decision to partner with AMD and launch AMD GPU-based XFX graphics cards speaks to the level of excellence achieved by the ATI Radeon HD 4000 series."

XFX has created a page on its website to provide more information, but there's only an introduction there right now.
