Channel inside
ISS (Intel Solution Summit) is Intel’s main annual channel event and has been running for at least ten years. It is traditionally where the chip giant unveils new channel-specific products and programmes.
Apparently there are more than 400 channel partners at this year’s event and the key sponsors are Microsoft, Seagate and VMware, which implies there may be a virtualisation flavour to ISS 2008.
Here’s the official spiel:
The annual Intel Solutions Summit is the key event for Intel Channel
Partner Premier Members to gain a comprehensive insight into Intel's channel
strategies and vision. Here, Intel shares its expertise to equip resellers with the ideal tools and resources to develop and grow their
business.
Some of the highlights of the Intel Solutions Summit are provided by: keynote speeches from
Intel executives, a comprehensive range of training sessions and a showcase
that provides the opportunity for vendors to demonstrate the latest, most innovative Intel-based solutions.
The event also coincides with an Italian general election in which, having experienced the alternative, the politically beleaguered Italians seem set to give Silvio Berlusconi yet another chance to not make anything better.
Such is the disillusionment and what’s-the-point-ness of the average Italian voter that they have even extended the voting period over two days on the assumption that most Italians would rather spend their Sunday hanging out and saying ‘Ciao’.
That’s all we can give you for now, but here’s a photo of the little handbook they gave me to minimise my bemusement.
