(London) June 30, 2008 – In response to increasing customer demand for broadband connectivity between technologies, PC World has created ‘Get Connected’. The new initiative gives customers the opportunity to purchase, and be immediately connected with, all their computing, internet and digital TV needs at PC World stores across the nation.
A variety of offers are available, which can include free and discounted laptops, mobile broadband, home broadband and digital TV. As Britain’s largest chain of specialist computer stores, the move to provide all the relevant connectivity and customer service alongside its hardware is a natural progression.
“Connectivity and content services are as important to customers as the hardware they buy. Get Connected reflects customer demand for a complete, one-stop solution that provides a way for our customers to not only get a great deal on a laptop, but also get connected to the right service. As the UK's leading laptop retailer we are uniquely placed to offer impartial advice and the widest possible choice of packages,” said Glenn Orchard, head of commercial development at PC World.
There are three key elements of Get Connected:
- Free and discounted laptops are available depending on the selected mobile broadband tariff. 15 laptops are available free of charge, while up to £450 can be saved on all of PC World’s extensive laptop range.
- Mobile broadband can be bought as a laptop package or as a standalone product and starts from £10 per month, provided by Vodafone, T Mobile and 3
- Home broadband and digital TV packages are available through Virgin Media, BT and Sky.
‘Get Connected’ is being rolled out to stores nationally and is set to form a focal part of PC World stores, with substantial physical presence at point of sale.
