Gaming is core to the overall entertainment value of MySpace. Nearly a third of our users engage daily in games and there are more than 28 million active app users on our site. Over the last few months, we've had a laser focus on improving our gaming experience. Just as music was our springboard for revitalizing our platform, we're taking a similar approach to gaming which you'll see in new features throughout site.

Today, at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, we're launching a new MySpace Games experience. We've revamped the previous games homepage and created a more robust gaming platform. For users, this means it's going to be easier than ever to discover and share games virally. For developers, we've improved application engagement and analytics tools so you have more intelligence on the demographics of who is using your games, how they're discovering them and how they're being shared.

We'll also introduce the MySpace Neon iPhone application giving users access to their MySpace games on the iPhone. Working closely with our partners, we're excited to deliver a number of new social games, including Fish Isle, Hoop Fever Live, Kingdoms of Camelot, Paradise Paintball, SPP Ranch, Warlords, Wild Ones, and Zombie Revenge.

And...if you happen to be attending GDC, we've got even more up our sleeves:

  • Swing by our day-long event, "Game Development on Social Platforms," focused on the basics of building games for social platforms, the business aspects of developing social games, and how developers and designers can tap MySpace's massive and highly engaged audience.
  • The MySpace technical team and key partners will be on hand to help developers and gamers start building or perfecting their games on-site. Also, speakers will include representatives from MySpace, InsideSocialGames, Lightspeed Ventures, Motorola, Unity 3D and more.
  • We'll announce the much-anticipated winners of the MySpace Developer Challenge.

Check out the press release http://www.myspace.com/pressroom?url=/press+releases/ for more specifics on these announcements.

As part of a team that's extremely passionate about gaming, I can tell you we're dedicated to continuing to evolve the site to meet the needs of our users and developers. So, please keep us updated on your experience with the new games!
