PRESS RELEASE
Aymar de Lencquesaing and Eric Cador Strengthen Lenovo Leadership Team
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, April 7, 2015 – Lenovo (HK:992) (ADR:LNVGY) today announced new leaders for North America and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), following a recent realignment of its business groups and geographies to drive greater consistency, synergy and focus across the world.
In a new leadership role, Aymar de Lencquesaing, currently President of EMEA, has been named President of Lenovo North America effective today. Lencquesaing joined Lenovo in late 2013 to lead the company’s drive in the mobile space in EMEA and lay the foundation for company’s expansion plans. He was promoted to President EMEA and Senior Vice President Lenovo Group in February 2014 and at the same time joined the Lenovo Executive Committee, LEC.
Under his leadership, Lenovo in EMEA reached a record high 19.7% PC share in FYQ3; achieved a 40% year-on-year increase in revenue in FYQ3; contributes nearly a third (29%) of Lenovo’s worldwide revenues; sells more tablets than any other Lenovo geography, and has expanded the smartphone business to nearly 50 countries in EMEA.
Lencquesaing has a broad perspective of the PC industry from his years as the CEO of Packard-Bell and he has a keen understanding of the North American market, having spent more than 20 years in the US before joining Lenovo. His 30 year career has spanned global leadership roles with companies in both the US and Europe. He will be responsible for driving company’s growth and ambitions in the North America market, a crucial strategic geography for Lenovo’s success.
Lenovo also announced the appointment of Eric Cador as the Senior Vice President and President of EMEA effective May 1. Cador is a global executive leader with 30 years of experience in leadership positions in the IT market. He formally led the PC business for HP in EMEA as Senior Vice President of the Personal System Group, a role that then expanded to include leadership of both printing and personal systems. Cador was also part of the leadership team that completed the Compaq integration and transformed the HP PC business. Under his leadership, HP reached the number one position in EMEA. Cador’s deep knowledge of the IT sector and business management as well as operational and strategic experience in design, supply chain and go to market strategies will ensure Lenovo’s path of success and momentum in EMEA continues.
“We are proud to have the most diverse, experienced and talented leadership team in our industry – and this is a core competitive strength for Lenovo. We can attract great talent because our business is strong, our strategy is clear and our opportunity looking forward is substantial,” said Gianfranco Lanci, President & COO Lenovo Group. “In Aymar, we are placing one of our most proven leaders in the strategically crucial North America market to not only build on our strong foundation, but also to deliver the kind of profitable growth and business diversification we have seen in EMEA. In Eric, we have attracted a unique talent to our company – an industry veteran with an incredible track record for delivering growth, deep insights into our industry, and a strong competitive spirit.”
Both Lencquesaing and Cador will report directly to Gianfranco Lanci, who has recently been promoted President and COO of Lenovo.
