Malcolm Tuck Joins Growing Team to Strengthen Position in UK Consumer, SMB and Enterprise Security Market
Kaspersky Lab, a leading provider of Internet security software solutions that protect against viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware, crimeware, rootkits, phishing, hacker attacks and spam, today announced that it has appointed Malcolm Tuck as Managing Director of UK & Ireland Operations. He will lead a growing team to capitalise on Kaspersky Lab's strength in the UK home user market and further develop its position in the UK enterprise and SMB sectors.
Malcolm Tuck is based at Kaspersky Lab's UK offices in Abingdon, Oxfordshire and he comments on his new remit, "It is time to take Kaspersky Lab to the next level in the UK security market. We have a portfolio of innovative, proven and reliable products and services that home users and businesses are demanding. The launch of our multi award-winning 2009 home user technology earlier this year has generated great momentum in consumer sales; meanwhile we are driving forward with an active programme of expansion to grow Kaspersky Lab's market share in the UK SMB and enterprise markets."
Malcolm Tuck brings a wealth of sales and management experience to Kaspersky Lab gained through a long and successful career spent leading IT products and services-based organisations through various stages of growth, from initial establishment to regional deployments across Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
Starting his career as an Engineer in the Royal Air Force, Malcolm Tuck then moved to New Zealand in 1990 to work for IBM. He then moved to the role of General Manager of Services for Sun's ISO in New Zealand then on to establish and run operations for a Systems Integration and Development company RHE & Associates in Asia Pacific. He returned to the UK in 2005 taking up a role as Alliances Director, EMEA for Symantec, from where he joins Kaspersky Lab.
"My career to date has afforded me valuable insight into identifying what is required to enable a fast paced business such as Kaspersky Lab to grow and remain successful. Success requires the right people, a strong focus on results and on building long-term client and partner relationships. We have solid foundations in place, and I look forward to leading the company to build upon these to take our UK business to new heights," comments Mr Tuck.
Outside of work, Mr Tuck is a classic car enthusiast. Having owned 55 cars, he explains, "I am currently in the market for an E Type Jaguar or XK120. I spent three years restoring a Jensen Healey before bringing it back to the UK from New Zealand. I have been a member of the Mercedes, Jaguar and Jensen clubs."
Malcolm Tuck replaces Svetlana Ivanova as Managing Director of UK Operations. Mrs Ivanova led the UK team for five years and now looks forward to using her expertise as European Director of Human Resources, as Kaspersky Lab continues its aggressive expansion programme.
