Power consumption under load is comparable between the older Core i5-6200U and the current Core i5-7200U, but the latter did run warmer during our testing. 86ºC with all cores/threads working flat-out is on the high side, yet the chip didn't throttle throughout our benchmarks and if you're partial to a quiet PC, you'll appreciate that this latest Brix S seems quieter than its predecessors. The fan is barely audible when the system is idle and though it can be heard when the going gets tough, it's never a huge distraction.
