Performance benchmarks kind of defeat the object of this PC, so they're included for the sake of completion. Please, please bear in mind that the extra cost here has gone into engineering a near-silent yet powerful PC.A single-channel S754 Athlon 64 Model 3200+ up against the dual-channel FX-51. It was never going to be a fair fight in terms of memory bandwidth, was it?.
Latency, on the other hand, has less to do with memory architecture. That's why both PCs draw level in ScienceMark 2.0's analysis. We usually expect to see sub-50ns results from A S754 CPU run with low-latency memory. The use of cheaper Corsair Select memory adds a few ns. Nothing to get overly concerned about, however.
2 AMD Athlon 64 systems. Both sporting 1GB of RAM. The difference lies in the processor speed (2.2GHz vs. 2GHz) and, to some degree, the benefits of dual-channel running. What benchmarks won't show you is where the Zalman / Poweroid combo is at its most potent; in cases where noise is a real issue.
