Storage evaluation
The SCAN's 10,000rpm Raptor 150 shows the MESH Elite Extreme QX G80 a clean set of heals in both sustained read and access times, plus its burst speed is somewhat ahead as well. However, the QX's Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 is still a quick drive, thanks to its high areal density.
There's nothing to separate the systems' FireWire performance. It's no surprise that the SCAN and QX have the same USB 2 results, either, as they are both based on the same motherboard. But the older MESH system has noticeably slower USB 2 ports.
