Benchmarks: Noise
The Vanquish Prodigy performs particularly well in regards to CPU and GPU temperature, but noise levels aren't anywhere near as impressive.
PC Specialist has made the effort to attach a four-pin 120mm fan to the Hydro H40, and the system exhaust keeps quiet enough when spinning at just over 1,000 RPM. The culprit here is the 200mm front intake. PC Specialist uses a three-pin Corsair fan that's too vocal for our liking - disconnect it and noise levels drop to 36dB.
It's important to note that two of the three comparison systems are specifically tuned to offer low-noise operation, but nonetheless the Vanquish Prodigy is a noisy little box in comparison.
The consistent readings regardless of usage scenario confirm that the front intake fan is the primary source of system noise and drowns out the rest of the components. If you do prefer your PC to run quieter, we'd suggest swapping out the front intake for a quieter third-party alternative.
